My son decided to wreck shop on our previous lamp in a manner worthy of a wrestling ring. Therefore, I took the guts from the old lamp and built a new one. I cut a bunch of squares out of an old 2x4, drilled a 1/4 inch hole in the center of each square, sanded all of them, stained each one, and glued them all together. I attached it to a base and ran the wires up through the drilled holes. After an unsuccessful search for a good lamp shade at the thrift store, we settled on the cheapest one from Target. Taadaa new mid century-ish lamp.
